ABOUT SiMi and Heyami by Olga

Have you been feeling unheard or unseen lately? Or do you just want to self-explore without being seen or heard? SiMi is here for you!

Due to current national and world events, many are facing emotions they have never had to deal with before. I was no exception. As a creative, I got to work. This snow balled into various characters and renditions as I explored my feelings.

SiMi and Heyami are characters that stemmed from Olga (the Artist) having this overwhelming sense of being unheard, invisible, and despised as a woman of color. Olga developed two characters that helped her combat anger, depression and various emotions that were brought about by these events. One of the characters is called Heyami, derived from “Hear me.” Heyami represents your voice. Heyami would also ideally help those dealing with anger and negative emotions, due to racism, neglect, sickness, isolation or any number of reasons. SiMi’s, name is from the plea, “See me.” Here are some of the Artist’s renditions of SiMi and Heyami.  There is “SiMi by Olga” who will be SiMi by “name” of the person doing a rendition of SiMi or Heyami.   Olga is also in the process of developing introverted SiMi. SiMi introvert will help people of all ages explore their own lives on the journey to self-awareness and healing. SiMi also promotes self-assessment and Cultural exploration. SiMi can be a teachable moment for parents to teach their children about their cultural heritage.
